Tax
Use the Tax tab to enter Tax exemption information for a Customer account. Add individual States, apply the applicable Tax Exemption Status's and the expiration date. Update the any Expiration date by selecting the drop down menu in the Expires field.
In the tax grid, select to add a State or
to remove a State.
Use to apply the initial Tax Status added to the account to all States. Be aware that the Tax Exempt ID and Expires date are also copied and can be edited by clicking into either field.
Choose the applicable State using the drop down menu.

A Tax Exempt ID is mandatory for all tax statuses except Exempt. An expiration date may be required for Farmer Exempt certificates. See Access States for more information.
An Expires date is optional on all Tax Statuses but required if the Tax Status of Farmer has been selected and can be entered using the mm/dd/yy format or using the drop down calendar. For states who do not issue an expiration date, enter 12/31/29.
Enter up to 50 alpha-numeric characters as the State UIN if required by a specific state.
Select IRS Penalty if the customer is subject to backup withholding when printing patronage checks. The percentage as set in Merchant Ag FIN will be withheld from their patronage check and will credit the specified account if the patronage percent to pay is at least 50%.
Select Mississippi Farm Implement Sales if the customer is eligible for Mississippi Farm Implement Sales tax.
Locations in Tennessee can select a TN Business Tax using the drop down to choose Retail, Wholesale or Out of State.
When necessary, select Prohibit Tax Overrides to prevent tax overrides on Orders and Batches.
